The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.
As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA. It was redesignated in 1949 as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with considerably expanded scope of functions.
Applications are invited for two positions of Senior Research Fellow, One for Unani Medical Graduate and the other with the Post Graduate qualification in Pharmacy/ Pharmacology under the research project entitled “Identification of effective products of Unani Medicine through innovative analysis” under Dr. O.P. Agarwal, Supported by CCRUM at ICMR Hdqrs.

Candidate having post graduate qualification in Pharmacology shall require two years previous research experience and having worked previously for any research project supported by scientific organization would be eligible to send the application. A candidate having M. Pharm can apply without two years
experience.
There is one post temporary project based position for Data Entry Operator which requires qualifications of Intermediate with Diploma Certificate in computer of at least 6 months duration shall be eligible to apply. The age limit for fellowship is 35 year on 31.12.2011.
On selection Unani/Medical graduate shall be entitled for a fellowship of Rs. 20,000/- + HRA 30% and non medical post graduate candidate shall get Rs. 18,000/- + HRA 30%. Data Entry Operatory shall get Rs. 9,000/- (consolidated) for further details please refer to www.icmr.nic.in fellowship site.

The walk-in interview shall be held on 25th January, 2012 at 11.00 a.m. in the Division of BMS at ICMR.
No TA/DA shall be paid by the Council for attending the walk-in interview.
