An Associate Institute of the University of Hyderabad, the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is a not-for-profit institute that aims to conduct innovative research in unifying areas of chemistry, biology and chemical biology. Our goal is to create and foster a research culture where chemists and biologists work together to generate original ideas, and generate experimental data which can lead to novel therapies for human disease and an improvement in quality of life. Training future generations of scientists working at the interface.

Senior Research Fellowship Holders for Ph.D Registration in Computer-Aided Drug Discovery & Molecular Modeling at the Institute of Life Sciences, Hyderabad.

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is a non-profit organization (Section-25) set up under a public-private-partnership, and is an associated institute with the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad.

Institute of Life Sciences encourages and invite applications from interested candidates who have (a) granted and valid Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) (issued from CSIR, ICMR, or any other govt, funding agency) - obtained based on their research interests in computational chemistry/biology/biotechnology applications, and (b) are interested to pursue Ph.D in the areas of Computer-Aided Drug Discovery and Molecular Modeling (fundamental and/or applied). ILS has expert faculty in these area of research, and has two positions.

The incumbent must have prior experience/demonstrated knowledge in molecular modeling, computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and understanding of principles of drug discovery either in academic or in an industrial setting. Once selected through the system of selection at ILS, the carried-out research would be based on the candidate's proposed research goals at the time of interview for SRF.

Minimal educational qualification of the candidate should be Master's in science (Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technoiogy, Pharmacy, Pharmacoinformatics) from recognized academic organizations of India.

Interested candidates should apply with attachments of (a) Cover Letter, (b) Updated Resume, (c) Scanned Copies of (i) Proof of Date-of-Birth certificate (if) Letter of Award of SRF fellowship (iii) Master's Degree Certificate, and (c) Research Proposal made at the time of SRF Interview, on or before 30th March, 2012 by e-mafi to srf_cadd@ilsresearch.org
