The Virus Research Center ( VRC ), Pune came into existence in 1952 under the joint auspices of the ICMR and the Rockefeller Foundation, as a part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. In view of its expanded scope and activities, the VRC was redesignated as the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978.
The NIV is identified today as the WHO Collaborating Center for arboviruses reference and hemorrhagic fever reference and research. NIV is also the National Monitoring Center for Influenza, Japanese encephalitis, Rota , Measles and Hepatitis.

Essential Qualification:
1. M.Sc. (Life Sciences) Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology.
2. Two years research experience.
Desirable Qualification:
1 Immunological / Mol. Biology/Cell culture
Age Limit: Below 35 years

II] STUDIES ON INDIAN TICKS … PREPARATION OF MONOGRAPHS ON INDIAN TICKS
Post: Senior Research Fellow [Non-Medical]

Consolidated Salary: 18000 + HRA
Essential Qualification:
1. M.Sc. (Life Sciences) Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology.
2. Two years research experience.
Desirable Qualification:
1 Experience in handling Zoological specimens.
2 Knowledge of computer applications
Age Limit: Below 35 years

III] NIV SRF
Post: Senior Research Fellow [Non-Medical]
Vacancy: 02
Consolidated Salary: 18000 + HRA
Essential Qualification:
1 M.Sc./M.Tech in any branch of Life Sciences/Physical Sciences with specialization in Bioinformatics / Biophysics / Biotechnology/ Biochemistry. Candidates having M.Pharm with above specialization may also apply.
2. Two years research experience.
Desirable Qualification:
Knowledge of Structural Bioinformatics
Age Limit: Below 35 years

2. Qualification & experience should be from an organization of repute.
3. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee for the selection.
