Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the seven Institutes of Technology created as centres of excellence for higher training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India, the others being at Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Bombay, Guwahati and Roorkee. Established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared an Institution of National Importance under the "Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963" and was renamed "Indian Institute of Technology Delhi". It was then accorded the status of a deemed university with powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for contractual appointment under the research projects. Appointments shall be on yearly contractual basis on consolidated pay slabs.

(B) Project Scientist    
Consolidated Pay Slab: Rs.22,000-26,800/-    
Essential: Ph. D in chemistry with at least 10 years research experience along with 1st class M.Sc. in Chemistry, preferable organic, should be able to undertake physico-chemical and micro analysis of water, soil, studies on plant extraction etc. few good journal publications.

The candidates who are interested to apply for the above post should send their applications with complete information regarding educational qualifications indicating percentage of marks/division, details of working experience and a recent passport size photograph along with an Application Fee (non-refundable) in the form of Bank Draft drawn preferably on State Bank of India in favor of Dean(IRD), IIT Delhi of Rs.100/-for the post of "Project Officer" & "Project Scientist" and Rs. 50/- for the post of "Project Assistant" addressed to the AR (IRD), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi - 110016. IIT Delhi reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short-listing of eligible candidates satisfying advertised qualification and requirement of the project post. Only short-iisted candidates will accordingly be informed. The last date for receipt of duly completed applications will be 15 days from the date of issue of this Advertisement. The Advertisement No. & post applied for must be mentioned on the left side of the application. Separate application should be submitted for each post applied for. 5% relaxation of marks may be granted to the SC/ST Candidates.
