Madras University is the mother of almost all the Old Universities of Southern India. The University area of Jurisdiction has been confined to, however, 3 districts of Tamil Nadu in recent years. This is consequent to establishment of various Universities in the State and demarcation of the University territories. This University has been growing from strength to strength while widening its teaching and research activities.
Applications on plain paper along with detailed bio-data are invited from eligible candidates to work in an ongoing research project entitled “Studies on anti HIV properties of extracts derived from marine organism” funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). The eligibility and stipend details are given below.

Duration of the project : 12 Months (likely to be extended based on performance)
Essential Qualification for SRF : M.Sc., degree in Microbiology or any branch of (1 post) life sciences with two years of research experience.
Desirable Qualification for SRF : Experience in Virology, Immunology, handling cell lines and Molecular biology Techniques
Fellowship : Rs. 14,000 p.m (Consolidated)
Note:
This project is approved for one year and likely to be extended based on performance. This is a temporary position only. All eligible SRF will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided. Applications should reach the under-signed on or before 20/12/2010.
