With a coastline of about 3,500 miles, inland sources in Rajasthan and Little Rann of Kutch, and the rock salt mines in Mandi, India have possibilities of attaining a high position in salt production among the salt producing countries of the world. As is known, apart from being an indispensable item of food, salt is an important raw material for the manufacture of several heavy chemicals e.g. soda ash, caustic soda and chlorine. Besides, salt is used in food processing industries, such as fish curing, meat packing, dairy products and fruit and vegetable canning.

Qualification: M.Sc. or equivalent degree with 55% marks + JRF (having a valid National level fellowship)
Fellowship: Rs.16,000/- + HRA @ 20%

Project Assistant- II
Qualification: M.Sc. with minimum 55% marks + LS/GATE
Fellowship: Rs.14,000/- consolidated
Upper Age Limit*: 28 Years

AND

Project Assistant- II
Qualification: M.Sc. with minimum 55% marks
Fellowship: Rs.12,000/- consolidated
Upper Age Limit*: 28 Years

* Relaxation in age as per CSIR norms.

The Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology of CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology such as stress genomics, proteomics & metabolomics, transgenics, bioprospection, marine biotechnology, adaptation biology, etc. We are looking for young, talented & motivated persons (M.Sc. in Plant Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry) for various ongoing projects.

The Walk-in-Interview will be held on 5.9.2013 (9.30 a.m.) at CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The selected / suitable candidates will be allowed for Ph.D. enrollment; JRFs will have the possibilities of Ph.D. enrollment in the prestigious AcSIR of CSIR.
