Job Description:
COMPANY INFORMATION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Analyze manufacturing raw material, in-process material, and shipment samples.
• Make decisions regarding quality approvals of manufacturing batches / shipments.
• Provide analytical support for investigation of problem batches.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
• May be asked to participate in the plant emergency response organization
• Additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
• High school or equivalent including high school science from an accredited school
• Two years of previous industrial work experience
• Excellent math and reading skills
• Computer literacy
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral/written)
• Ability to plan tasks independently
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to lift and handle full five gallon cans weighing in excess of 40 lbs.
• Ability to lift and handle other objects, weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work 12 hour rotating shifts and overtime
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to see and differentiate between all colors and shades
Desired Profile:
CONSIDERED A PLUS:
• Associate or bachelor degree in chemistry or equivalent science
• Working knowledge of QA laboratory instrumentation (e.g. ICP, GC, FTIR, etc.)
• Familiarity with Lubrizol products, intermediates, and raw materials
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and act on them
• Previous experience in a team-based work environment
