North-East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Biotechnology, Medicinal, Aromatic and Economic plants, Geoscience, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Applied Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, General Engineering, Cellulose Pulp & Paper, Material Science, Coal, etc. This institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipment to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science. Presently, research work on a number of CSIR and externally funded projects are being carried out. It is proposed to select suitable candidates for Empanelment as Project Assistants. The candidates from the empanelled list will be engaged as Project Assistants as and when project requirement arises.

Qualifications:
Project Assistant (Level II)
SI. No. 01:1st class M.Sc in Chemistry with specialization in Medicinal/Inorganic/Organic/Pharmaceutical/Physical/ Polymer chemistry
Project Assistant (Level I)
SI. No. 02:1st class B.Sc in Chemical Science/B.Pharm/B.Sc having chemistry as one of the subjects
Stipend (Consolidated): SI. No. 01 : Rs 10,000/- pm (Level II) and SI. No. 02: Rs 7000/- pm (Level I) (Higher stipend may be considered, if there is fund provision in the project)

General terms and conditions:
The selected Project Assistants may be placed anywhere in north-eastern region. The maximum age limit shall be 28 years for Project Assistant (Level I & II) as on the date of interview which is relaxable in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC as provided for in Govt of India Orders. The engagement will be on purely temporary basis for specific period and will be made depending upon the requirement of the CSIR/externally funded project. It is co-terminus along with the duration of the project. The Project Assistants (Level II) may be allowed to do his/her Ph D work based on guidelines. The candidates should have knowledge of computer for day to day work. The engagement will not confer any right for regularization in the institute. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for the interview.
