The State of Kerala was formed on 1st November 1956 consequent on the Reorganisation of States. It comprises the former Travancore-Cochin State (except the present Kanyakumari District and Shencottah Taluk of the present Tamil Nadu) and the Malabar District and the Kasargod Taluk of South Kanara District of the then composite Madras State.
With the formation of the State of Kerala on 1st November 1956 as a result of the reorganisation of States, the Travancore-Cochin Public Service Commission was transformed into the Kerala Public Service Commission. The number of the Members of the Commission was increased to Five in 1959, to Seven in 1971, to Eight in 1981, to Nine in 1982, to Thirteen in 1983, to Fourteen in 1984 , to Fifteen in 1984 and to the present strength of Eighteen in 2005.

Note:- (1) Applications submitted by candidates belonging to other than Muslim community will be rejected. No rejection Memo will be issued to them individually.
6 Age : 19-43; only candidates born between 02.01.1968 and 01.01.1992 are eligible to apply for the post. (both dates included) (including relaxation in para 2 (i) of the General conditions. (for conditions regarding the other age relaxation please see para 2 of the General Conditions, except para 2 (i)
7. Qualifications:-
a) Degree in Sidha Medicine of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
b) A class registration in part- A in the Travancore – Cochin Medical Council.
8. Applications:- The applications shall be submitted by online facility only with photograph uploaded (photo shall be taken after 31-12-2010. The name of the candidate and the date of taking photo shall be embossed on the photo graph) provided in the Website of the Kerala Public Service Commission . Detailed instructions regarding the submission of applications are available on the Website of the Kerala Public Service commission viz. www.keralapsc.org. No application fee is required. The barcode number in the application form shall be quoted in all further enquiries/correspondence. Documents to prove qualification, age and community have to be produced as and when called for. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the instructions given in the website will be summarily rejected.

11. If a written test/OMR test is conducted as part of the selection hall ticket of eligible candidates will be made available in the website of the Kerala Public Service Commission. Candidates are instructed to download their hall ticket as per the instructions in the website.
12. At the time of Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Practical Test, Interview etc., candidates shall produce their Photo affixed ID proof in Original and self attested photocopy of (Voters Identity Card, Driving License, Passport, Identity Cards issued by Social Welfare Department to Physically Handicapped Candidates, Photo affixed Pass Books issued by Nationalized Banks, PAN Card, Identity Cards issued to Government Employees by the concerned Departments) along with Hall Tickets.
