The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

1. Post: Senior Research Fellow
Funding agency and Topic: ICAR-NICRA
Proteome analysis of nitrogen-efficient and nitrogen-inefficient wheat varieties at elevated CO2 and high temperature regimes
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Botany, Biotechnology or Life Science with at least 60% marks.
Desirable: Preference will be given to students with experience in biochemical experimentations, proteomics and field work
Emoluments: Rs. 16,000/- P.M. + 30% HRA
Duration: One and half years

2. Post: Project Assistant
Funding agency and Topic: ICAR-NICRA

Emoluments: Rs. 8,000/- P.M.
Duration: One and half years

3. Post: Junior Research Fellow
Funding agency and Topic: DST
Development of FRET-based nanosensor for measurement of in vivo flux of lysine and methionine
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Botany, Biotechnology or Life Science with at least 60% marks. Qualified JRF/LS examination of CSIR/UGC/ICMR
Emoluments: Rs. 12,000/- P.M. + 30% HRA.
Duration: Two and half years

The appointment in the above positions does not guarantee admission to PhD programme of the University. If a candidate desires to pursue PhD programme he/she will have to fulfill the eligibility requirements for Ph.D. admission as per Jamia Hamdard rules.
