National Institutes for Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs) and Pharma Industries signed 17 MoU to fulfill gap between academic education and industrial needs. Also Government announced for setting up new NIPER Facility in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Ministry stated that they will invest Rs 500 crore in this international level institute which will come up in two years. NIPERs are only institutes which are making their impact on industries and these are the foot prints provided by them. Interesting to see, whether any other private institutes or universities would like to follow them.
The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission is set to become the first WHO Collaborating Centre for Safety of Medicines and Vaccines in the South-East Asia Region. WHO collaborating centres across the globe which serve as platforms for knowledge transfer and act as catalysts for developing the next level good pharmacovigilance practices and awareness of adverse drug reactions and their reporting. Establishment of a robust pharmacovigilance system and increasing its reach, quality and credibility is vital for development of safe medical products.

There are various health concerns and disorders which are difficult to treat due to side effects of medicines or untreated in this modern era; and world is looking with keen eyes for some miraculous medicines that have better efficacy with lesser or no side effects. And natural products would be better option. Natural products also need more clinical trials because FDA says that natural does not mean safe.
