National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) conducts an admission process for its various postgraduate Programmes in Pharmacy. Various programmes it offers includes M.S.(Pharm), M.Pharm, M.Tech(Pharm) and MBA(Pharm). NIPER is an autonomous body which was established by Department of Pharmaceuticals,Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. It was declared as Institute of National Importance by Government of India. NIPER was originally only in Mohali but later Government of India opened 6 more NIPERs in Ahmedabad, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and Rae Bareilly.
There is a common entrance exam for all the programmes which is conducted at number of cities across India. While admission to M.S. Pharm, M.Tech Pharm and M.Pharm programmes is based only on the entrance exam admission toMBA(Pharm) is based on a Written Test followed by a Personal Interview and group Discussion.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate should have done B.Pharm/M.Sc(in relevant disciplines)/B.Tech(Chemical Engineering) /B.V.Sc./ MBBS/BAMS or equivalent with atleast 60% aggregate or equivalent. Also the candidate should have valid GPAT/GATE/NET scores for several disciplines. The eligibility criteria for different programmes varies in terms of the qualifying degree therefore refer to the admission notification for details. Those in their final year can also apply.
How to Apply:
Candidates can obtain the application forms in person or by post by sending a request for the form to NIPER, Mohali. Candidates have to send the filled form along with copies of their NET/GATE scorecard.

• Last Date for receipt of request for issue of Information by Post: 5th June, 2010
• Last date for issue of application brochure from NIPER S.A.S Nagar: 21st June, 2010
• Last date for submission of completed application forms: 21st June, 2010
• Date of Entrance Examination:11th July, 2010 (10-12 am)
• Group Discussion and Interview of M.B.A. (Pharm.): 21st-22nd July, 2010
• Declaration of the list of selected candidates and admission to M.B.A. (Pharm.): 23rd July 2010
• Declaration of the list of waitlisted candidates and admission to M.B.A. (Pharm.): 24th July 2010
• Counseling for admission to Masters programme (in Science discipline): 26th -27th July 2010
• Orientation and Commencement of classes: 2nd August 2010

Pattern of Examination:
The Entrance Test will be of 2 hours consisting of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The questions will be from the syllabus of B. Pharma and MSc.(Relevant Field). There will be negative marking of 25% for every incorrect answer.
