Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Project Associate in the DBT project entitled “Harnessing the DREB1E-Like antisense lncRNA ORFs and miPEPs Potential for cold resilience in chickpea”, under the supervision of Dr. Shiv Kumar Meena, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR.
Post : Senior Project Associate (one post)
Emoluments : 42,000/- per month plus 27% HRA, as sanctioned in the project
Qualification : Candidates having a Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; and four years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services; OR a Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/MD/MS from a recognized University or equivalent and fulfilling the DST/DBT norms and guidelines as per SR/S9/Z- 05/2019 date July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply.
The upper age limit for the above post will be 40 years.
Essential : Candidates with at least four years of research experience in molecular biology, metabolomics, plant handling, phenotyping, plant cold-stress gene expression analysis, genotyping, microscopy, RNA-seq data analysis, and characterization of cold-stress-related genes will be preferred. Candidates with peer-reviewed publications relevant to the project area will be given preference.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per norms. The initial appointment will be for one-year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier. The tenure of the post can be extended/curtailed based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR.
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Thursday, October 01, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at BRIC-NIPGR from 09:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on October 01, 2026. Any candidate reporting after 10:30 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s).
