The Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, popularly known as CIMAP, is an Indian plant research laboratory and part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Established originally as Central Indian Medicinal Plants Organisation (CIMPO) in 1959, CIMAP is steering multidisciplinary research in biological and chemical sciences and extending technologies and services to the farmers and entrepreneurs of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs). It is headquarterded in Lucknow and has research centres in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pantnagar and Purara.

Eligible and interested candidates may attend the walk-in interview for engagement on purely temporary basis as Project Associate-I (PAT-1, 04 Posts) under the CSIR-Aroma Mission 4.0 (MMP025304) at CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Hyderabad. The details are given below

Post : Project Associate- I (PAT-I).

Maximum Age : 35 Years.

Essential Qualification : 1. M.Sc. in Agricultural/ Horticulture/Biological Sciences (Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology)/ Chemical Sciences (Organic Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Food Technology)/ M. Pharmacy (Pharmacognacy/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Analysis)/ BE/B.Tech (Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology) from a recognized University or equivalent and with CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR-NET/JRF/LS qualification or GATE.
2. M.Sc. in Agricultural/ Horticulture/Biological Sciences (Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology)/ Chemical Sciences (Organic Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Food Technology)/ M.Pharmacy (Pharmacognacy/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Analysis)/ BE / B.Tech (Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology) from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable : For M.Sc. in any branch of Agricultural/ Horticulture/ Biological Sciences: Knowledge or experience in breeding, cultivation, extension and quality planting material generation of medicinal and aromatic crops. Field work experience in medicinal and aromatic crops would be preferred.
For M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry/ Medicinal Chemistry/ Food Technology/ Industrial Chemistry) / M. Pharmacy (Pharmacognacy/ Pharmaceutical chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Analysis)/ BE/B.Tech (Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology): Knowledge or experience in the area of herbal extractions, process development, value addition, and quality analysis of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants would be preferred.

Stipend per month
Project Associate-I (PAT-I) : 1. ₹ 31,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR NET, including Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/ DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies and Institutions.
2. ₹ 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (1) above

Terms & Conditions
1. Engagement will initially be for a period of one year and may be extended or curtailed depending on project requirements, the incumbent's performance and conduct, and the availability of funds from funding agencies, as the case may be.
2. The tenure of project staff shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances may the tenure exceed five years. The performance of the project staff will be reviewed periodically so that anyone not found up to the mark may be terminated.
3. The position is only temporary and, therefore, will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim, implicit or explicit, on any post in CSIR-CIMAP.
4. The upper age limit as on the date of the Walk-in Interview is relaxable as per the Government of India Rules, i.e., up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Persons with Disabilities/Women and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
5. On completion of the tenure in one project, if one wants to apply for engagement in another project, he/she will have to go through the selection process by submitting a fresh application under the new project. Engagement of the Project Staff under the new project would be made only after submission of resignation and “No Demand Certificate” in the previous project
6. The project staff shall be permitted to avail leave as per rules.
7. Experience, where required, will be counted from acquiring the minimum educational qualification.
8. Final semester and result-awaited candidates will not be allowed to appear for the interview. Candidates who have passed the course(s) but did not get the certificates from the University should bring the custodian certificate from the respective college/university stating that the certificates are released to the candidates in due course of time after fulfilling all the requirements.

The candidates should report for the Walk-in Interview at the above place along with a duly filled and signed Application Form downloaded from the website, along with originals and attested copies of mark sheets, certificates and a recent passport-size photograph.
