Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, Punjab, an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)’ in the research project funded by ‘ICMR, Government of India at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Title of the Research Project : Controlling Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) through novel VEGF- targeted aptamer tethered Pazopanib nanotherapy
Principal Investigator : Dr. Surajit Karmakar, Scientist-G
Number of positions available : One
Essential Qualifications :
1. First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Life Sciences / Nanobiotechnology) or
2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees with PhD (Life Sciences / Nanobiotechnology)
Desirable Experience : 1. Candidates with strong knowledge and research experience in relevant Nanobiotechnology field with proficiency in animal handling. Experience in Project Management.
Age limit : Must not be over 35 years as on 08.10.2024, which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
Fellowship : @ Rs. 56,000/- pm + HRA as applicable
Duration : Initially one year and may be extended based on performance of the candidate and availability of funds.

• The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, for a maximum of three years/till the duration of the project. The position is co-terminus with the project.
