It was established initially as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) in 1979 with the merger of survey of Medicinal Plants Unit (SMPU), Mobile Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) in addition to Community Health Care Research Programme. The Institute was upgraded as Central Research Institute (Ay.) in 1999. The Institute has shifted to its own building in August 2002. As per the notification of CCRAS dated 15th December 2009, the Institute has been re-upgraded in category A and named as National Research Institute for Ayurveda –Siddha Human Resource Development, Gwalior. Later the name of this Institute has been changed as Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Drug Development, Aamkho, Gwalior on 19th May 2016. Further the institute has been renamed as Regional Ayurveda Research Institute since 22nd December 2020.

Walk in interview for Senior Research Fellow position under IMR project funded by CCRAS, New Delhi will be held on 05.10.2024 at 10:30 AM in the office of the Assistant Director In charge, Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Aamkho, Gwalior-474009, M.P. The selection procedure will comprise of a written test followed by interview.
Name of the Project : Study of selected Ayurvedic herbs for their anti-angiogenic potential and toxicity profile in zebrafish embryo model for cancer management. (Duration : 02 years)
Qualifications Essential : M.Sc. In Biochemistry / Pharmacology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences or equivalent with two years of research experience or M.Tech.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 01.01.2024.
Desirable : Experience with Zebrafish/ fisheries research, in-vitro/in-vivo assays, PCR and molecular biology research and relevant publication in reputed SCI indexed journals
Monthly Remuneration : Rs. 42,000 + HRA
General Conditions
1. Age will be determined as on 01.01.2024. Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt, rules.
2. The engagement will be purely temporary on contract basis and initially for a period of one year which is extendable to next year subject to performance of the fellow. No claim for continuation or regular/permanent appointment will be entertained.
3. Applicants should bring their original certificates of educational qualification, research experience, proof of age etc. along with, a set of photocopies and two passport size photographs.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview.
