Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with a fixed salary of Rs. 37,000/- per month (plus 16% HRA) in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded Project R/Dev/P-07/1330 entitled “Molecular characterization of a legume lectin-like protein from Arabidopsis thalicina (AT5g03350 or AtLLP1) to uncover its role in abiotic stress mitigation and related signaling'’ sanctioned for 3 years. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential qualifications : M.Sc. in Botany / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Life Sciences or a related field (with 55% and above) (ii) NET/GATE or equivalent
Experience : Experience in the area of higher plant molecular biology or molecular biology will be preferred
Upper age limit : 28 years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates).
All things being equal, SC/ST and female candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
