Indian Institute of Technology Indore located in Madhya Pradesh, known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009. It is one of the eight new IITs, started by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institution started functioning from 2009-10 in a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilya University under mentorship of IIT Bombay. Shri Arjun Singh, the Union HRD minister, laid the foundation of the permanent campus, spread over an area of around 501.42-acre (2.1 km2), on 17th February 2009 at Simrol, a location on Khandwa Road about 25 km from the city of Indore.

Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time bound research project for a temporary period, purely on contractual basis as per the following details.
Project Title : Exploring texture randomization mechanisms in non-rare earth magnesium alloys
Department : Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science
Project Tenure : 03 years and/or co-terminus with the project. (The selected candidate will be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. program at IIT Indore as per institute norms)
Job Description : Deformation, Recrystallization and Phase transformation behaviour in magnesium alloys will be studied by employing X- ray diffraction, SEM-EBSD and TEM/STEM imaging techniques.
Essential Qualification : B.S. 4 years programme / B. Pharm./MBBS/ Integrated B.S.- M.S. / M.Sc. / B.E. / B. Tech. or equivalent degree, with at least 55% marks and passing of NET-LS/GATE test
Age Limit : JRF-28Yrs.
Age relaxation The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates. Fellowship Junior Research
Fellowship (JRF): Rs. 31,000/- p.m. (First & Second years) Rs. 35000/- p.m. (3rd year upon upgradation)
Desirable : Candidates having the basic knowledge on Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Condensed Matter Physics (Solid State Physics) and Materials Science & Engineering topics will be preferred.
