At present, the institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programme in the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This programme is spread over a period of eight semesters. The institute also offers M.Tech programme in several disciplines including Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The institute also offers M.Sc programme in the following disciplines : Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Additionally the institute also offers M.S(R) programmes in Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow to work on a research project sponsored by BRNS, under the supervision of Dr. Anupam Bandyopadhyay, Department of Chemistry, IIT Ropar, Punjab 140001.
Title of the project : Development of peptide-based infection imaging agents and deciphering interaction mechanisms of novel peptides with model cell membranes
Duration of the project : 3 years
Project position : One (01) Junior Research
Fellowship amount : Rs.31,000/month first two years and 35,000/month for the last year as a SRF after the progress assessment by the committee.
Accommodation : Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the institute prevailing at the time of joining of the candidate.
Eligibility requirements :
1. Master in general chemistry or pharmacy (Med. Chem.) and must have a minimum of 6 months of experience in organic synthesis. If the candidate has additional experience in peptide synthesis will be preferred.
2. Candidate must have GATE score (AIR < 1200) or UGC/CSIR-LS (AIR < 100) or GPAT (AIR < 600).
3. Good documentation and communication skills in English are highly desirable.
