Assam University came into existence in 1994 after enactment of the Assam (Central) University Act 1989. Through its pursuit, Assam University is in the process of making itself an institute of excellence. Assam University main campus is situated at Dargakona, about 20 kms away from Silchar. The campus is set amid sprawling hillocks and typical landscape of north east. The other campus of the university is situated at Diphu in the district of Karbi Anglong, Assam.
An online interview will be called for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Assam University, Silchar for the Adhoc project entitled ‘Bio prospection of few selected ethnic medicinal plants(North-East India) for their Phyto-characterization and experimental validation of its tribal use towards the drug development against inflammatory pain disorders and rheumatoid arthritis” sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR),Government of India
Essential qualification : M.Pharm / M.S.(Pharm.) in Pharmacology / Natural Product / Pharmacognosy / Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Analysis/Quality assurance/other specialization with GATE / GPAT / CSIR-NET or equivalent examination Experience in ethnic medicinal plants-based drug discovery preferable.
Age limit : As per the Government Norms, if any.
Tenure of the appointment : 2 years and 3 months; initially for 3 months, likely to be extended for another two years depending on the performance of selected fellow and followed by satisfactory project assessment reports of funding agency experts and PI.
Monthly fellowship : 31,000/- +HRA 8%@2480/-
Terms and conditions : The service of the selected candidate will be as per the ICMR sanction letter terms & condition. The project is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
