The Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) is an autonomous body registered under societies act in July 2010 under Dept. of AYUSH, presently Ministry of AYUSH), Government of India, New Delhi. It is an apex body in India for initiating, undertaking, formulating, developing, co-ordinating and promoting research in Siddha on scientific lines.
Virtual / Personal interview for the selection of Research Associate (Chemistry) – One post for the Project “NMR dereplication and Mass Spectrometric (LC-QTOF-MS & GC-EI-MS) profiling guided identification and isolation of chemical markers from less explored raw drugs used in Siddha System of Medicines for managing COVID-19 pandemic” under INTRA MURAL RESEARCH PROJECTS IN SIDDHA SCIENCESis proposed to be conducted. The engagement will be purely on a contract basis and no claim for continuation or regular appointment will not be entertained. A written test will be held, if need be, depending on the number of candidates followed by an interview on the same day of those candidates who qualify in the written test.
Post : Research Associate (Chemistry)
Essential Qualification
1. M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent from recognized University/Institute and 2. Ph.D in Natural Products / Organic Chemistry
Desirable : i. Experience in handling column chromatography and isolation of natural products ii. Through knowledge in NMR and mass spectroscopy iii. Minimum three research publications in Science Citation Index (SCI) (Web of Science) indexed journals
Age : Not exceeding 40 years (Relaxation will be given up to 5 years in case of SC/ST and 10 years in case of Physically challenged candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates (non-creamy layer) as per the GoI Rules
Remuneration : Rs. 47,000 + 27 % HRA on remuneration earned
Period of the Project : Initially for a period of 1 year with subsequent extension based on the performance maximum up to 1 years or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
Place of Posting : Chennai

Instructions to the candidates
1. CV/ Resume will not be accepted. The application should be in the prescribed format (Annexure - I) only along with all required documents. If otherwise, applications would be summarily rejected.
2. Candidates should enclose self-attested photocopies of educational qualification, research experience, and other testimonials along with filled application.
3. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date of application.
4. All posts are on contractual basis for the specified duration offered. The engagement period may be renewed after the given duration subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
5. The engagement of above position will be purely on contractual basis and will not confer any right for regular appointment in the Council.
6. Date, Time, and place/mode of the interview will be intimated through CCRS / website/email to the eligible candidates. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the Interview.
7. Incomplete applications without relevant enclosures cannot be entertained.
8. The candidates should bring with them the originals of all the documents/certificates etc. for verification.
9. The selection of the candidate will be based on their performance in the interview.
10. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
11. The Competent authority reserves the right to postpone/cancel the recruitment process at any stage. The Selection Committee has the right to select or reject the application of any candidate.
