The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College).

Essential qualifications
• M.Sc. in life sciences subjects with MBA or B. Tech (Biotechnology /Bio Medical/ Bio Informatics / Instrumentation Engineering / Genetic Engineering / Gene technology and related disciplines) with MBA from a recognized University
Desirable
• Minimum one-year experience in Business enterprises Proven knowledge on
o Business Models and Dealing
o Computer Knowledge
o E-commerce
o Finance, Venture capital etc.
Role and Responsibility
• Promote VIF @ TANUVAS among potential Incubatees and induct more Incubatees
• Promote products developed by Incubatees for technology transfer or business expansion
• Attracting funds through external grants, Seed Money, venture capitals, CSR and other sources for sustaining the company
• Nurturing Incubatees especially students
• Establishing Business Clusters
• To assist in all the activities of VIF@TANUVAS

Lab Assistant - 2 Posts
Consolidated Pay : up to Rs.20,000/- P.M
Essential qualifications
• B.Sc., / B.Tech in Life Sciences / Biological Science courses from any reputed University
Desirable
• Proven knowledge on
o Molecular Biology Techniques such as PCR, Gel electrophoresis etc.,
o Handling of Major / Minor Equipments
o Computer Applications such as Excel and Power Point
o Ability to write correspondence and reports
Role and Responsibility
• Receive or collect, as well as process samples
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
• Maintenance of Log book and Sample receipt
• Coordinate with service engineers for periodical checking of AMC/CAMC of the
equipments
• Prepare and supervise experiments as and when Incubatee requests
• To assist in all activities of VIF@TANUVAS
