National Institute of Immunohaematology was started by ICMR basically to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics , red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies , population genetics, antenatal serology, Immunology, HLA etc. In the first twenty five years, using limited space, limited resources and budget, talented and highly enthusiastic young scientists from the center under the guidance of dynamic stalwarts Dr. H M Bhatia and Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271 publications of which 71 were published in prestigious international journals. The centre had many discoveries to it's credit. Seeing this progress, ICMR decided to rechristen BGRC as 'Institute of Immunohaematolgy' at the time of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in 1982 to accommodate all the departments of the centre under one roof.

I Class Master’s Degree from a recognized university in Lifesciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry with 4 years R&D / Teaching experience in Immunohaematology
OR
II Class M.Sc. + Ph. D. degree from a recognized university in Lifesciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology with 4 years R&D / Teaching experience in Immunohaematology after M.Sc. + Ph.D.
Desirable Criteria
1) 4 years of teaching experience in Immunohaematology or research in the relevant subject.
2) Ph.D. candidates will be given preference.
3) Additional post-doctoral research/ teaching experience in Immunohaematology in recognized Institute(s)
4) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management
Job Requirement
To carry out research in the area of Immunohaematology
Age: Not Exceeding 40 years.
Person working in ICMR projects continuously shall also be eligible for age relaxation upto 5 years provided he/she has entered into project service within prescribed age limit for the post.

Notes

To carry out research in the area of Next Generation Sequencing data analysis, protein structure modeling and other bioinformatics analysis in Hematological & Immunological disorders.

General Conditions

3. Pay and other allowances are admissible as per ICMR rules. Benefit of new restricted defined Contributory Pension is admissible for new entrants as per provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB /& PR Division) Notification No / 5/7/2003 – ECB & PR dated 22/12/2003 effective from 1/1/2004.
4. Educational Qualification and experience should be from a recognized Board / Organization / Institute of repute. Experience will count after the date of acquiring prescribed essential qualifications.
5. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the online written test and the candidates will have to make their own arrangement.
