Indian Institute of Technology Indore located in Madhya Pradesh, known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009. It is one of the eight new IITs, started by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (India), Government of India. The institution started functioning from 2009-10 in a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilyabai University under mentorship of IIT Bombay. Shri Arjun Singh, the then Union HRD minister, laid the foundation of the permanent campus, spread over an area of around 510-acre (2.1 km2), on 17th February 2009 at Simrol, a location on Khandwa Road about 25 km from the city of Indore.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DBT funded Research Project entitled “Flourimetric biosensor for detection and quantification of insecticides and pesticides using recombinant organo-phosphorous hydrolase expressed in E. Coli.".

Objectives of the Project The main aim of project is to express organo-phosphorous hydrolase enzyme in bacteria and use the cells for development of flourimetric insecticide and pesticide biosensor.

Eligibility Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (with valid GATE)/ M. Tech. Degree or equivalent in streams like Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Biomedical Engineering/Life Sciences/Nanotechnology or in any other science and engineering stream.

Desirable: Candidates having experience in working with enzyme expression and purification of proteins from bacteria, immobilization of cells, developing cell based biosensors etc. are encouraged to apply. CSIR / UGC/ DBT-JRF fellowship holders would be preferred.

 

Monthly Stipend: As per norms (i.e. about Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA (if hostel accommodation is not provided)

Age: Below 28 years on the date of application

Duration: Initial appointment will be for 12 months, which is extendable up to a maximum of 36 months solely based on performance.
