Post: SCIENTIST E2/E3 (MICROBIOLOGY)
Tasks
The technical skills required:
1. Developing products/compounds related to reproductive health with the knowledge of microbial transformation and clinical genetics
2. Writing proposal and further executing the project in the area of reproductive health using the knowledge of microbiology
3. Assessing the passage of viral particles through the condoms of various thicknesses and their barrier capacity against STIs.
4. Responsible for assay using microorganisms as part of the test system. It includes checking the effect of (array of variants of) condoms against the beneficial vaginal flora, and vaginal pathogens as well as to improve the value of our primary product.
5. Ensuring the quality of raw materials before they are processed in the production area, Monitoring the microbiological quality of Environment (air & water), Validation of the test methods used in testing finished products and test finished products from Microbiological perspective.
6. Sterility Testing involves detection, isolation, enumeration and identification of Microorganisms and testing for bacterial endotoxins in different materials, products, surfaces, garments and the environment
7. Assuring quality of the product through all day to day operations. To assist by evaluating raw materials, other supplies and the finished, packaged product.
8. Safeguarding compliance to common good manufacturing practices. This involves calibration for maintaining laboratory equipment, compiling & analyzing data for documentation, preparation of related reports. Preparing QC Sop’s (Microbiology) for new products technology document and also revising and updating SOPs as necessary
9. Monitoring and executing the preventive steps against the potential microbiological hazard that helps to prevent and control the diseases.
Managerial skill set needed:
1. Writing proposals from grants from both external and internal (HLL) funding agencies.
2. Coordinating with the Principal Investigators of the other projects to fulfill the Microbiological requirement.
3. Executing the projects and providing scientific solutions to the team members
4. Project management and delivering the products/projects as per the time line.
5. Purchasing instruments as per the requirement of the projects
Requirements
Maximum Age: 40 Years as on 01/07/2015.
Pay Scale: Rs. 20,600-46,500/- (for Scientist E2)/ Rs. 24,900-50,500 (for Scientist E3)
Annual CTC (Non-metro): Rs.8.1 Lakhs (for Scientist E2) / Rs.9.8 Lakhs (for Scientist E3) (approx.) at the minimum of the scale.
Qualification:
Essential:PhD (Micro Biology)
Post Qualification Experience:
Essential: Minimum 2 Years for Scientist E2 and 5 years for Scientist E3
