The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.
As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA. It was redesignated in 1949 as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with considerably expanded scope of functions.
Following positions are to be filled purely on temporary and contract basis for a period of one year or till completion of the projects:-
Post: Senior Research Fellow, Laboratory Technician
1. Project:- Studies on HRP2 and HRP3 expression in Plasmodium falcipraum parasites from endemic States of India: A prospective evaluation under RMRCT Jabalpur.
Senior Research Fellow (Non Medical) One post
Essential qualification: M.Sc. in life Science/ Biotechnology/Human Genetics/ Microbiology with minimum two years Research experience.
Desirable qualification: Experience in Molecular/ Immunological techniques such as PCR, DNA Sequencing and ELISA. Knowledge in data analysis software’s. Proficiency in Computer.
Age: 35 Years. Age will be relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/PWDs Candidates as per rules.
Consolidated monthly pay in Rs.: Rs. 18,000/-pm + 20% HRA.
Work Responsibility: Will be responsible for field and laboratory work related to the project. Job involves research in the endemic areas of the States of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat & Rajasthan
2. Project:- Molecular Epidemiological of Malaria in India and Qatar with an emphasis on Parasite Diversity, Drug resistance and Immune response.
Laboratory Technician- One post.
Essential qualification: 10+2 in Science plus DMLT.
Desirable qualification: Experience in malaria microscopy work.
Age: Below 28 years Age will be relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/ PWDs Candidates as per rules.
Consolidated monthly pay in Rs.: Rs.13,760/-pm
Work Responsibility: Laboratory /field work for malaria survey. Any other related work as assigned by Principal Investigator from time to time.
3. Project:- Establishment of Grade-II Virology Laboratory under ICMR Virology Network laboratory in this Centre.
Senior Research Fellow (Non Medical) One post
Essential qualification: M.Sc. In Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biological Science with two years research experience.
Desirable qualification: Experience in diagnostic Laboratory in conducting ELISA, PCR,RT PCR etc, and knowledge of computer and bio-safety
Age: 35 Years. Age will be relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/PWDs Candidates as per rules.
Consolidated monthly pay in Rs.: Rs. 18,000/-pm + 20% HRA.
Work Responsibility: To help in establishing virus diagnostics tests for human pathogenic viruses. To look in to Laboratory requirements etc.

Desirable qualification: Experience in diagnostic laboratory and knowledge of computers and bio-safety.

Consolidated monthly pay in Rs.: Rs.21,223/-pm
Work Responsibility: To Conduct diagnostic tests using techniques like ELISA, RT,PCR etc.

General Conditions: The posts are purely temporary and co-terminable with the project. Preference will be given to the candidates having higher qualification and work experience. The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment under ICMR. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview. Age may also be relaxed in deserving cases.
