National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER-K) was created in 2007 under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizer as a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This followed the establishment of NIPER Mohali, which is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. NIPERs are conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa.
Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the following post of Junior Research Fellow under purely time bound project sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) in the Department of Medical Devices, NIPER Kolkata.
Project Title: Prefabricated silicone grafts with porous surface immobilized with bioactive peptides for tracheal reconstruction in rabbit model.
Description of the project: The project involves development of synthetic tracheal tubes, evaluation of in vitro cytotoxicity and in vivo biocompatibility in animal model.
Interview: The shortlisted candidates will be emailed about the interview date and time.
Educational qualification and experience/skill:
M. Tech/ M.S (Pharm)/ M. Pharm/ M.Sc in Pharmacy/ Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Equivalent with minimum 60% marks in degree.
• Candidate must have experience in biomaterials development, mammalian cell and macrophage culture, immunocytochemistry
Salary: 37,000/- with admissible HRA
Upper age limit (Yr): 28 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ WOMEN/PWD as per GoI Rules)
Terms and conditions:
1. The above position is purely contractual for a tenure of 36 months or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The continuation of the fellowship is subjected to satisfactory performance.
2. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. Applications reaching after specified time may not be entertained.
5. Valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
6. Candidates with prior experience of working in a funded project will be preferred.
7. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.
