CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI

Area – I : Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
Project Associate-II (PAT-II) 
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology / M.Sc. (Ag.) alongwith 02 years R&D experience in relevant area. 
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Plant Tissue Culture

Terms & Conditions
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects. 
a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self-attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc. 
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple-choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day. 
c) The appointment of the selected candidates in the CSIR/externally funded project will be co-terminus with the project subject to his/her satisfactory progress, receipt of the funds from CSIR and other extant rules/ conditions/instructions issued by CSIR/GoI/Other Authorities from time to time. The total tenure of the project staff in projects in CSIR should not exceed 06 years. However, the project personnel shall be allowed to continue beyond 6 years only in case of contract/consultancy/sponsored projects funded by PSUs, Industries, Start-ups and Individual entrepreneurs, that are of 12 months or less duration. In such an even, the total period of engagement of any project personnel under one project and/or combination of different projects, either in the same laboratory and/or different laboratories of CSIR, cumulatively taken together shall not exceed 07 years. 
d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute. 
e) Candidates applying for Project No.GAP-3529 must be the resident of Uttar Pradesh. 
f) Candidates applying for Project No.CLP-9001 may also appear before Selection Committee through online mode, with prior information, for which willing candidate(s) has to submit duly filled application form alongwith relevant documents at coa@nbri.res.in 03 days prior to the date of interview. 
g) The relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/PwBD/ Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively. 
h) The period of experience in a discipline / area of work, wherever prescribed shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications prescribed for that grade. 
i) In case of large number of candidates turn up for the interview, there is a possibility that interviews may continue till late in the evening or the next day also. Therefore, candidates are requested to make their travel plans accordingly. 
j) Number of position(s) may vary at the time of selection.
k) Director, CSIR-NBRI reserves the right to cancel/modify the vacancy/recruitment/ selection process, if the need arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereof. 
l) Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence political or otherwise will be treated as disqualification for the post. 
m) In case, it is detected at any point of time in future, even after engagement, that the candidate was not eligible, engagement of the candidate shall be liable to termination forthwith as per this clause.
 n) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview.
