National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), is a premier research institute engaged in research in life sciences across scale. Several research facilities and associated infrastructure helps in providing cutting edge technology to support this research. In view of the significant expansion of the Ecology and Evolution programs over the last decade, NCBS has developed the Collections Facility. The aim of this facility is to carry out museum-based research in various fields. This research primarily depends on fieldwork carried out in various biogeographic zones across India coupled with specimens and other related genetic material collected in the field and stored in a centralized facility at NCBS.

Post : Executive (Outreach and Digital Media) on fixed term basis

Consolidated Salary : Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification.
Essential Qualification & Experience :
a) Post-graduate degree in Life Science from a recognized university
b) Proven and excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), with proven ability to write different types of content for a diverse audience.
c) Basics of video editing and graphics designing
d) Ability to work independently as well as in a team
e) Excellent organisational, timekeeping and prioritisation skills
f) Capacity to manage different projects simultaneously
Desirable Experience :
Minimum 2 years of writing and producing audio-visual content as a Science Communicator in a Research Institute or any reputed Organisation.

Roles & Responsibilities :
• To prioritize, investigate, research, and write stories about science on campus.
• Work with the team to write scripts and assist in developing engaging audio-visual science content for the social media channels of NCBS
• Work with the communications team for campus-wide outreach and public engagement events including Open day, and campus visits and tours.
• Assist with preparing reports and day-to-day activities
