The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.
Post : Project Associate
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for an Extramural (funded by DHR-GIA; Proposal ID: 2022-1881) research project entitled “Molecular epidemiology of non-polio enteroviruses (NPEV)....................India” at Department of Virology at PGIMER, Chandigarh on a tenure basis. The following post will be tilled up on a purely contractual basis.
Qualification : Graduate Science / relevant subjects from recognized university with first class aggregate, with three years of experience from recognized institute or Masters in Virology/Microbiology/ Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences / Genetics from a recognised institution with first class aggregate
Desirable :
a) Prior experience in molecular, and cell culture work will be prepared.
b) Scholars who are selected through national eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship). GATE or any National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE,
Upper age limit (in Years) : Upto 30 years*
Emoluments per month : Consolidated salary +HRA as per norms of funding agency
*Age relaxation as per GOI rules

Note
1) It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the applications are reached timely in the COVID-19 Testing Lab cum Depot. Application received after the due date & time shall be summarily rejected. Department will not be responsible for any postal delay.
2) The candidate for the Project Associate -1 will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria and a written test will be conducted if the number of candidates is more than 30. In this scenario top 5 candidates will be called for an interview on the same day. In case of less number of candidates only interviews will be conducted by the selection committee. The post of technician and field worker will be filled up purely on the basis of a written test conducted by the selection committee.
3) Age relaxation for women OBC (non-creamy)/SC/ST will be given as per GOI rules.
4) The authority reserves the right to change cancel the advertisement/selection process due to administrative issues.
The terms & conditions for the posts are as follows
1. The engagement of the individual in the post will be on a temporary basis for one year only and may be extended depending on the extension of project from DHR /satisfactory performance of the candidate.
2. The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
3. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under PGIMER, Chandigarh.
4. Benefits of provided funds. CCA leave, Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. are not applicable.
5. The experience will be counted only after completion of essential educational qualification. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee selection for the written test interview call and or selection.
6. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department Organization are not eligible to apply.
7. Eligibility list and the dale o! interview/written lest will be uploaded on PGI Website within one week from the last date of receipt of applications. No individual intimation will be given for the written test/interview. Candidates are advised to check the institute website regularly. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the same.
8. The interview for the post of Project Associate -1 will be held in-person ONLY.
9. The candidate will be expected to join within 15 days from the date of issue of appointment letter.
10. The candidates may be deputed for sample collection from any other hospital/community in tricity anytime during the duration of the project.
