The Union Public Service Commission commonly abbreviated as UPSC, is India's premier central recruiting agency. It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for All India services and group A & group B of Central services. While Department of Personnel and Training is the central personnel agency in India. The agency's charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States. The commission is mandated by the Constitution for appointments to the services of the Union and All India Services. Essential Qualification (s)
A- EDUCATIONAL
(i) Engineering Degree in Chemical Technology or M.Sc (Analytical Chemistry) or M.Sc (Organic Chemistry) from a recognized university.
B- EXPERIENCE
Two years practical experience in Production or Development or Quality Assurance in the field of Petroleum products / Paints & Chemical products.
Note - The qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualification (s) : Minimum six months certificate course in German, French, Russian, Japanese or Chinese language from a recognized institute.
Duties : Preparation of specifications and vetting of documents pertaining to procurement of items/stores. Technical evaluations, codifications, testing, inspection of equipment, systems/sub system pertaining to the relevant discipline and defect reports. Creation of test facilities. Interaction with the Industry and preparation of capacity/capability reports. Technical documentation and Administration of test labs.
Probation : Two years
Headquarters : New Delhi but liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Other Details : Name of Service- Defence Quality Assurance Group A’ Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) . The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent.
Any Other Conditions : New Pension Scheme (NPS) will be applicable to all Government employees who will be appointed on or after 01 Jan 2004.
