All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar is one of the apex healthcare Institutes established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). Under this scheme six new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences have been established at Patna, Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur and Rishikesh apart from the one at New Delhi. In his Independence Day Speech on August 15, 2003, then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee announced opening up of 6 AIIMS Hospitals at Patna, Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur and Rishikesh under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) launched for up gradation of medicare facilities in underserved areas of the country besides providing quality medical education in super-specialty disciplines in these areas.

Research Scientist C (Medical)

Essential Qualifications : 1. Post graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) with one-year R&D/teaching experience or Postgraduate diploma in medical subjects with two years R&D/Teaching experience in the required subject from recognized university OR 2. MBBS degree recognized by MCI or equivalent degree from recognized University with 4 (four) years R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after MBBS Degree
Desirable Qualification : 1. Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in viral outbreak diagnosis as evidenced by scientific publication. 2. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.
Job Description
1. Real time assessment of any viral outbreak if occur in Odisha
2. Coordination with state health personal in control measurement of any viral outbreak.
3. Ensuring the proper sample collection and its transportation by health workers in case of laboratory investigation of any viral outbreak in Odisha
4. Routine diagnosis of all viral infections whose facilities are available in VRDL.
5. Conducting trainings and workshops for Medical colleges of Odisha
6. Participating in research projects sanctioned.
7. Writing new research projects and working on it.
8. Completion of any other work assigned by PI and Co-PI for smooth functioning of VRDL.

Or 2nd class M. Sc. + Ph.D degree in relevant subject from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification :
i. Ph.D. candidates with research thesis work on infectious diseases supported by at least three original research publication in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preferences.
ii. Any Post -doctoral research / past experience in Viral infectious disease diagnosis, epidemiological studies will be given preference.
iii. Working experience of tissue culture / virus harvesting / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.
iv. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of molecular bioinformatic tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

Terms and conditions
1. All the above mentioned vacancies are for fixed tenure of one year (12 months) can however be extended to a maximum of five years depending on the candidates’ performance and budget grant from the funding agency.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear for walk- in interview.
