The Directorate of Forensic Science services (DFSS) was created in the year 2002 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, after bifurcation from BPR&D, based on the recommendations of National Human Rights Commission and Padmanabhaiah Committee on Police Reforms. The Gazette notification to this effect was issued by MHA vide its Order no. 25011/41/2001-GPA.II/PM-II on December 31, 2002. It is headed by Director-cum-Chief Forensic Scientist. It has six Central Forensic Science Laboratories under its control located at Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Guwahati and Bhopal.

Application for appointment to the post of Deputy Director (FS) (Group ‘A’, Gazetted, NonMinisterial) in Level - 12 of Pay Matrix on Deputation including Short Term Contract basis in the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, New Delhi

Scale of Pay : Level - 12 of Pay Matrix (Grade Pay - Rs.7600/-).

Eligibility : Officer of the Central/State Government or Union Territories or universities or recognized research institutions or public sector undertaking or statutory or autonomous organization
a) i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department
or
ii) with five years regular service in posts in Level - 11 of Pay Matrix and
b) Possessing the essential qualification and experience prescribed as under :- Master degree in Physics / Applied Physics / Biophysics / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics/ Forensic Science / Botany/ Zoology / Micro Biology/ Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Bio Chemistry / Physical Anthropology / Genetics / Pharmacology / Pharmacy / Psychology / Criminology / Computer Science / Electronics/ Human Genetics
OR
B.E. / B. Tech in (Biotechnology / Civil/ Electrical / Mechanical/ Electronics/ Telecommunications / Computer Science/ Instrumentation) / Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) / Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)/ Information Technology/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE) from a recognized University/ Institute.
ii) Ten years experience of analytical methods and research therein, out of which at least eight years experience should be in Central/ State/ UT Forensic Science Laboratory.

Filling up one post of Deputy Director (FS) (Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) on Deputation including Short Term Contract basis under the Directorate of Forensic Science Services for publication in the Employment News.

Period of deputation : Not exceeding four years.
