Post : Head - Analytical Research & Development

Job Responsibility:
• Ownership and accountability of the scientific quality of the analytical methods developed
• Strategic planning and execution of systems and processes within the ARD team
• Scientific, regulatory and business oversight of analytical projects
• Proactively enables the timely execution of analytical development projects, thereby facilitating the supply of required quantities of drug substances for various studies in a communication driven, collaborative and customer centric way
• Mentors the team and implements systems for continuous improvement of communication, customer interaction and analytical tools and methodologies
• Envisions and establishes niche capabilities within the analytical team
• Enables the technical and financial deliverables of the Process R&D team
• Tracks and manages capital projects within the A

Candidate Profile
PhD in Organic Chemistry from Tier I Indian Universities/Institutes like UICT, IIT, IISc, NCL, IICT etc or from US, EU or Japan with Post Doc from US, EU or Japan.
Prior experience in a CRO environment is an added advantage though it is not a must.
Experience in leading large teams is a must
Experience: 15-20 yrs of experience out of which a minimum of 8-10 years in the API/ NCEs development

Skills:
• Experience in leading multiple teams for API / NCE and non-pharma analytical development
• Regulatory aspects of investigational API / NCE development
• Broad understanding of the drug development continuum in view of analytical research and development
• Identification and characterization of impurities
• Expertise in analytical techniques that cater for early stage to late stage development
• Ability to work with external customers from the global pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical industry
• Experience handling API/NCE projects for pre-clinical, clinical and commercial applications
• Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
• Ability to provide a strategic direction to a large analytical team with the necessary technical leadership
• Experience setting up functional capabilities (facility and scientific) for analytical research and development
• Ability to handle large teams (50-100)
