INDIRA GANDHI MEDICAL COLLEGE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE has been established by the Government of Puducherry in the year 2010 as an autonomous institution of Government of Puducherry and is administered by a duly constituted Governing Body headed by Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Puducherry as the Chairman and the Principal Secretary (Health) as the Vice Chairman.

The Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Puducherry invites applications from the eligible Indian citizens, who are the Natives / Residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry for filling up of the vacancies in the below mentioned posts on contract basis at consolidated monthly wages as indicated against each.

Scale of Pay / Pay Band: PB-2-Rs. 9300- 34800+ Grade Pay 4200

Required educational qualification
i) Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized Institution / University or equivalent
ii) Registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacist Act, 1948

Age Limit: Not exceeding 32 years

Terms and Conditions of Contract
a) The Candidates will be engaged on contract basis initially for a period of twelve months. The contract period is likely to be extended from time to time subject to the performance of the individuals to be assessed by the Institution.
b) The contract engagement does not confer any right to regular appointment and this engagement is subject to the following conditions:-
(i) They are not entitled to leave of any kind other than casual leave of one day for every completed month of service and public holidays and regular holidays.
(ii) They are not entitled to any service benefits including pension, invalid pension, gratuity, bonus and other retirement benefits etc.
(iii) The service rendered by them will not be reckoned for the purpose of seniority and promotion or for any other benefit under other Service Rules.
(iv) Their services may be terminated by this Institution after issue of one month notice, if their services are not upto the expected standard or for any other specific reasons. They may also discontinue their services after giving one month notice, if they do not want to continue.

Eligibility Conditions:
a) The maximum age limit is mentioned in col.no.6. as on 31/10/2018, which is the last date of receipt of applications.
b) The candidates who had already applied (proof to be produced) for the posts pursuant to this Institute’s Notification dated 19/11/2014 and crossed the prescribed age limit are also eligible to apply afresh. Relaxation of age will be considered in their cases, in the event of their selection.

Nativity / Residence:
Both Residents and Natives should have been residing continuously for five years in the Union Territory of Puducherry prior to the date of application. The old Nativity/Residence certificates already obtained from the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, Puducherry and Permanent Integrated Certificate (PIC) issued by thd Competent Authority will be accepted. However, fresh certificate should be produced on their selection.

Application fee:
An amount of Rs. 250/- towards application fee (non-refundable) should be submitted along with the filled in application in the form of Demand Draft / Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of the Director, IGMC&RI, Puducherry at any nationalized Bank.

How to apply:
a) Application form and Admission Card may be downloaded to apply for the post.
b) Candidates who have fulfilled the eligibility conditions alone may submit their duly filled in application to the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Kathirkamam, Puducherry-605 009 along with the self-attested copies of the following certificates:
1) Birth Certificate /Board Certificate for date of birth
2) SSLC mark list
3) HSC or its equivalent mark list
4) Degree Certificate / Experience Certificate required for the post.

Mode of Recruitment:
A maximum of 100 marks is prescribed for selection and the same will be distributed as
follows:
a) Written Competitive Examination (90 marks)
i) The question paper will be in objective type with multiple choice questions.
The allotment of marks will be as follows:
(1) General English - 10 marks
(2) General Knowledge - 10 marks
(3) Relevant subject / field pertaining to the post - 70 marks
ii) The competitive examination will consist of a single paper of 2 hours duration.
iii) The syllabus will be of Degree / Diploma level for the posts concerned.
iv) The candidates will be required to answer the questions in the special OMR answer Sheet to be provided by this Institution
v) The Question paper will be in English
b) Weightage for Employment Registration (10 marks)
A maximum of 10 marks will be awarded for seniority in the Employment Exchange at the rate of one mark for each completed year of seniority to be reckoned with from the date of registration of required technical qualification for the post to which applied for in the Employment Exchange, subject to a maximum of 10 marks.

Certificate Verification:
The selected candidates according to merit will be called for certificate verification. At that time they will have to produce all the original certificates including fresh Nativity/Residence obtained from the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management not below the rank of Deputy Tahsildar, failing which their selection will be cancelled.
Date, time and Venue of Examination:
The Written Competitive Examination will be held in IGMC&RI, Puducherry. The date and time of the Examination will be intimated in due course.

Special Advice:
All the prospective candidates are advised to submit application to this Institution even though their names are sponsored by the Employment Exchange. If they fail to submit application in the prescribed format, their candidature will not be considered merely on the strength of their names having been sponsored by the Employment Exchange as this Institution requires various data regarding academic/technical qualifications, etc.

General Instructions:
1. The application should be filled in neatly and legibly without any overwriting/erasures in Block Letters only using a ball pen.
2. No original certificates should be sent along with the application
3. Original certificates will have to be produced at the time of verification.
4. Applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected. Similarly, incomplete applications and applications without the required copies of certificates will also be rejected after giving intimation.
5. No correspondence will be entertained with regard to the recruitment process.
6. Change of Address, if any, after submission of application should be intimated to this Institute or otherwise this Institute will not be responsible for any delay/non-delivery of letters.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Competitive Examination.
8. The Institute reserves the right to enhance / reduce the number of posts and also to cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason therefor. No enquires will be entertained in this regard.
