Gauhati University Post Graduate Correspondence school started in May, 1998 with the objective of helping those who could not enroll as regular students. The PGCS aims at providing an opportunity to these students to obtain a Post Graduate degree of the Gauhati University through the mode of correspondence education. The degree from PGCS shall have the same standard and status as the regular Post Graduate degree as the syllabi for the two courses are the same.

Applications are invited for the post of JRF under DBTs sponsored project entitled "Quest for Cancer Drugs: Screening and Bioassay Guided Phytochemical Investigation of Selected Endemic Medicinal Plants of Eastern Himalaya" in Department of Biotechnology, Gauhati University. The project is a joint multi Institutional one with Gauhati University (G.U., Guwahati, Assam), National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS, Pune, Maharashtra), National Chemical Laboratory (NCL, Pune, Maharashtra) and Rajib Gandhi University (RGU, Arunachal Pradesh).

Qualification: M.Sc. / M.Tech in Biotechnology / Life Science / Biochemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry, preferably with adequate working experiences in Animal Handling and Molecular Biology Techniques.

Duration - Three years

Fellowship will be provided as per DBT, Govt, of India. Candidate may send application with complete biodata through email (mckalitagu@gmail.com) and a hard copy to Prof. M.C. Kalita, Principal Investigator, Department of Biotechnology, Gauhati University on or before 31st October 2018.
