Opportunity for PhD, M.Pharm, MSc as Project Staff at The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research

The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), established in 1965, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) engaged in the Research & Development in the areas of Environmental Toxicology, Predictive Toxicology, Health Risk Assessment, Preventive Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Analytical Toxicology, and also National S&T Missions. IITR has two campuses; the main campus is located at the centre of Lucknow City and the other campus at a distance of approx. 20 km from the main campus.

Eligible and interested candidates may attend the interview for purely temporary engagement as Project Staff under CSIR/externally funded Projects tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology research, Lucknow. Project wise vacancy positions, date of Interview and qualification details are us under:-

Project Assistant-II (01 post)
Essential Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Having exposure in R&D institutional related to air pollutants and analysis.
Job Description : Sampling and analysis of stack emission, Ambient air for SOx and NOx with knowledge in handling of air samplers.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 20,000/- + (20%) HRA.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years Relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST, physically handicapped and female candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) candidates.

Project Associate-I (01 post)
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Having 6-12 months of experience in the analysis of chemicals/environmental samples using analytical equipments.

Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs.25,000/+ (20%) HRA Per month

Project Associate-I (01 post)
Essential Qualification : Master’s Degree in Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or related fields from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Candidates with experience in mammalian cell culture will be preferred.
Job Description : Research and Development activities in cancer biology.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : As per Office Memoranda viz., ANRF/OM/N- 01/2024, a candidate with a Master’s degree (with CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship or Gate) in the specified subjects will be provided with the monthly emoluments of Rs. 37,000/- +HRA. Candidates with a Master’s degree (Without CSIR-UGC-NET OR Gate) in the specified subjects will be provided with a monthly emoluments of Rs. 30,000/- + HRA.

Project Associate-I (01 post)
Essential Qualification : Master’s Degree in Agriculture Science (Agriculture Chemistry/Soil Science/ Agricultural Biochemistry) or Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry or M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis or equivalent from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification : Knowledge of chromatography and spectroscopy techniques (AAS, ICP- MS,IR,GC/HPLC,G C/LC-MS/MS), bio- chemical techniques, organic synthesis and formulation development
Job Description : Formulation development and characterizati on, conducting bio-efficacy studies, Soil/tissue sample preparation for chemical profiling and report preparation.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : (i) Rs. 37,000/- +HRA per month to a candidate who are selected through (CSIR- UGC NET including Lectureship or Gate) or a selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) Rs. 30,000/- + HRA per month for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Senior Project Associate (01 post)
Essential Qualification : PhD in Chemistry (Submitted) or Master’s degree in Chemistry with Four (4) years of experience
Job Description : Analysis of water sample, report preparation and modelling.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : (i) Rs. 42,000/- +HRA
Upper Age Limit : 40 years Relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST, physically handicapped and female candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) candidates.

Project Assistant (Junior Research Assistant) (01 post)
Essential Qualification : Master’s Degree in Biological Science / Life Science from a recognized institution or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification : Bioinformatics (Databases development and AI/ML based predictive models).
Job Description : Development of Bioinformatic s databases and AI/ML based predictive models and its experimental validation via in vitro cell culture studies.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs.25,000/- (Consolidated) per month.

Project - JRF (Junior Research Fellow)(01 post)
Essential Qualification : Master’s Degree in Zoology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Animal Sciences With GATE/NET- LS/ICMR- JRF / Biotechnology eligibility test.
Job Description : Carried out the proposed research work.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : 1st and 2nd year Rs. 37,000/-+ HRA per month; 3rd year Rs. 42,000/-+HRA Per Month.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years Relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST, physically handicapped and female candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) candidates.
Project No. and title of the Project : GAP-451 “Arsenic- Mediated epigenetic regulation of PU.1 and its impact on microglial phagocytos is.”

Eligible candidates will have to report for interview at 9.00 AM. Candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview after 10.00 am. The candidates have to appear for the interview before the selection committee on the above date and time at CSIR-Indian Toxicological Research Institute, Toxicology Bhawan, 31 Mahatma Gandhi Marg Lucknow 226001.

Eligible candidates will appear along with the duly filled application form (which can be downloaded from the Institute's website iitrindia.org) along with attested copies of mark sheets/certificates and latest passport size photograph. The candidate will be called for the interview only if he/she is in possession of the original certificates.

General Conditions
1. Suitable Candidates may be empanelled for future requirement if any, under different projects.
2. The date for determining age/qualification and experience shall be the date of interview.
3. The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications prescribed for that Post.
4. The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the aforementioned projects.
5. The engagement in these projects will not confer any right implicit or explicit on the candidate for consideration for regularization against any CSIR/IITR post(s).
6. The number of positions against the various projects can vary at the time of selection depending on the requirement of the institute.
7. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.

9. Candidates must bring their original educational/experience certificates with them. Otherwise, they will not be allowed in the interview.
10. For a position in a project, required experience shall be counted only after the candidate has acquired the minimum prescribed qualification.
