Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligibleIndian Nationals for the following positions under the project titled “Exploring the marine ecosystems for novel bio resources with human health and industrial significance.”
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Project duration : Up to 31.03.2026 or the completion of the project as per GoI orders and based on annual performance appraisal

Upper age limit : 35 years
Remuneration : 42,000/- per month + 18% HRA
Eligibility criteria : Essential qualifications Candidates having M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Virology / Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in research work are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE/GPAT) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines.
Desirable qualifications : Candidates with more than two years of research experience working in BSL3 / ABSL3 with Mycobacterium tuberculosis or other bacterial pathogen OR Candidates will have have experience in high throughput screening for anti-mycobacterial compound screening OR The candidate with experience in NGS data analysis like single cell sequencing, transcriptomics etc.

Application process : Interested/eligible candidates may fill up the form Senior Research Fellow provided at the institute website (ils.res.in ) with all the necessary documents, such as copies of mark sheets, educational certificates, experience certificates, qualifying examination certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if any), etc.
All the positions are purely temporary and coterminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
