The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research with a view to understand body's defense mechanisms for developing modalities of immune system manipulation that can intervene with disease processes. The institute’s research thrust areas under immunology and related disciplines cluster in four main themes, namely, infection and immunity, molecular design, gene regulation and reproduction and development, where cutting edge research in modern biology is being carried out employing multiple overlapping disciplines of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and structural biology.

Post : Research Associate-I (One position only)

Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate-I for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below

Educational Qualifications : PhD/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc / M.Pharm / ME / M.Tech with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. Experience with analysis of antigen-specific T cells, single-cell multiomics experiments, and data analysis will be given preference. The candidate should be able to perform both wet lab experiments and bioinformatic analysis. Candidates who have completed their viva-voce examination may apply.

Job description : To perform single-cell RNAseq experiments and analysis, and bulk transcriptome analysis, ATACseq experiment and analysis, CUT&RUN experiments and analysis. Doing antigen specific T cell experiments. The candidate should be able to write custom codes for the analysis in R

Emoluments : The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience Rs. 58,000/- per month plus 27% HRA (As per DST OM dated 26.06.2023)

General Terms & Conditions
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
