Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, invites applications for the position Junior Research Fellow for the ICMR-funded research project titled “A molecular understanding of mitochondrial disorder in an Indian patient cohort: a new avenue for molecular diagnosis, therapeutics, and disease management” at the Center for Molecular Neurosciences, Department of Anatomy, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (1 Post)
Eligibility : M.Sc / M.Tech. or B.Tech (4 years) in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Cell Biology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry or any related areas with a good academic track record. GATE or NET-qualified candidates will be given preference.
Job Description : Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, transfection, Western Blot, qPCR, Cloning, experience in BSL2 facility, and ABSL2 facility is desirable. Soft skills such as working in MS Office, Excel, GraphPad Prism or knowledge in Python or R would be an added advantage. Scientific article writing skill is required.
Deadline-oriented job delivery is expected. The candidate is required to participate in preparing the project report and UC/SOE.
Remuneration : Rs. 37,000 + 8% HRA per month
Duration of engagement : Until end of the grant period i.e. 2028, if performance is satisfactory.
