Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech) is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) = 01
Essential Qualification : Master’s degree in chemical sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in organic synthesis and / or medicinal chemistry research.
Upper Age limit (years) - 35 Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.31,000/- +HRA

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) = 01
Essential Qualification : (i) Masters in Biological Sciences or Bachelors in Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Two years experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations. Desirable : Experience of working with micro-organisms of BSL2/BSL3 category.
Upper Age limit (Years) - 35 Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.35,000/- +HRA
