Directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine & Storage was established in the year 1946 on the recommendation of Woodhead Commission as an apex organization for advising the Government of India and state governments on all the matter related to Plant Protection. The Directorate is headed by Plant Protection adviser. Plant Protection strategy and activities have significant importance in the overall crop production programmes for sustainable agriculture. Plant protection activities encompasses activities aimed to minimizing crop losses due to pests through integrated pest management, plant quarantine, regulation of pesticides, locust warning & control and training in desert areas besides training and capacity building in plant protection.
Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, Faridabad (an attached office of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer's Welfare, Government of India) invites application from the eligible candidates on short term contract basis , for a period of 1 year, for the following positions.
Senior Technical Officer (STO) [Toxicology] - 03 posts
Remuneration : Rs. 53,000/- per month all inclusive
Eligibility Criteria : Master's Degree in Toxicology or Pharmacology or Medical Technology or Bio- Chemistry or Microbiology or Biotechnology or Masters Degree in Zoology with specialization in Animal Physiology from a recognized Institute or University, and;
Two years working experience in related field of Pharmacology or Toxicology.
Technical Officer (TO) [Toxicology] - 01 post
Remuneration : Rs. 37,000/- per month all inclusive
Eligibility Criteria : Master's Degree in Veterinary Science/Specialization in Pharmacology/Toxicology/Master's Degree in Technology with specialization in Pharmacology/Toxicology/Master's Degree in Biotechnology from a recognized University / Institution.
Desirable for Technical Officer (Toxicology ):
Two years working experience in related field of Pharmacology or Toxicology.
Age Limit :
Sr. Technical Officer (Tox) Candidate should not be more than 45 years of

Communication and Drafting Skill:
Should have good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong flair for in depth handling of work relating to the scheme.
Computer Literacy : Good Knowledge of Computer and should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation (including typing) and internet surfing etc.,
Type of Appointment :
The appointment will be of temporary nature and the Department/Directorate can cancel at any time without providing any reason for it.
Accommodation : The Consultant needs to arrange own accommodation facility at nearby places. No accommodation or House Rent will be provided by the Department/ Directorate.
Contract Period : Consultant will be engaged initially for a period of 01 year from the date of appointment
Scope of Work / Job Responsibility :
• Evaluation of Toxicology Dossiers and preparation/submission of comments for consideration of CIB&RC and any other work associated therewith.
• Provide technical inputs on toxicology and related fields to the Registration Committee (RC) and Central Insecticides Board (CIB) as and when desired.
• Provide technical inputs related to pesticide residues, FSSAI and Codex.
• Any other technical work assigned by Secretary (CIB&RC).
Tax Deduction at Source : The Income Tax or any other tax liable to be deducted, as per the prevailing rules will be deducted at source before effecting the payment, for which the Department will issue TDS Certificate/s. Service Tax, as applicable shall be payable extra, at the prevalent rates.
No extra charge : The monthly remuneration approved by the Department in the contract, will be inclusive of the costs of consultant's travel, lodging and boarding, and also all incidental expenses, professional fees etc. No separate charges will be payable by the Department on any such account. However, in case the Consultant is required to travel outside Delhi in the context of the work/assignment, the Department shall reimburse the actual cost as per the Rules/Regulations of the Central Government.
Confidentiality of data and documents : The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of the data collected as well as the deliverables produced for the Department shall remain with Department, No one shall utilise or publish or disclose or part, with, to a third party, any part of the data or statistics or proceedings or information collected for the purpose of the assignment or during the course of the assignment for the Department, without the express written consent of the Department. The Consultant shall be bound to hand-over the entire set of records of assignment to the Department before the expiry of the contract, and before the final payment is released by the Department.
Basis for Evaluation : The scrutiny of applications will be carried out by the Department on the basis of required qualification & experience of individuals based on past work experience.
Guidelines for submission of the Applications : The duly completed application in prescribed format should be carried by the candidate at the time of reporting.
