Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.
Position : One (JRF)
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) sponsored project, Filenumber : EEQ/2021/000270 (BHU Project Code:P-07/1266) entitled "Design and Synthesis of Some Novel Analogues of FNC (2'-deoxy-2'-β-fluoro-4'-azido-β-D-arabinofuranosyl cytidine) and their Biological Evaluation as Anti-HBV Agents"under the supervision of Prof. Virendra Prasad, Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, Uttar Pradesh, India. The project is up to 27th February, 2025. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry with minimum 55% marks and have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET or GATE.
Age Limit : Not more than 28 Years. Age relaxation will be provided as per SERB, GoI norms.
Desirable Qualifications :
• M.Sc. specializationin Organic Chemistry
• The candidate should have good analytical skills.
• The knowledge of characterization techniques of organic molecules is desirable
• Familiarity with nucleoside chemistry is also desirable.
Fellowship : Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA (as per norms).
