Applications in the prescribed format [Google Form] are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the following purely temporary position(s) under the project entitled “Development and validation of a novel Biomimetic 3D-printed Dental Implant-based on the Varonoi algorithm for early osteointegration (GAP-3172), tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.

Post : Project Scientist-I (PS-I) [01 Position]

Essential Qualification : Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Life Science / Biological Science / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Zoology OR M.Tech. / Integrated M.Tech. in Biotechnology AND 4 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations.
Desirable : Experience in: (a) microbiology procedures – pathogen handling and culturing,, MIC, MBC, Time kill kinetics, antibiotic synergy testing, etc.; (b) cell culture procedures – mammalian cell culture, cytotoxicity analysis, haemolysis assays, transfections, microscopic examination, etc.; (c) molecular biology protocols – DNA, RNA, Protein isolation from microbes and mammalian cells, PCR, Real- Time PCR, Western Blotting, etc.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- + HRA

Important Instructions
1. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagements shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project is up to 31.03.2027.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the prescribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 1st December 2024 (Sunday) up to 5:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening on 2nd December 2024 (Monday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the in-person interview at Board Room, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the Google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
12. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
