National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Kolkata, is an Institute of National importance under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER Kolkata is involved in the development of new process for chiral small molecule and antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) based therapeutics against rare diseases.

Applications are hereby invited for the recruitment of the following post at this Institute purely on temporary basis for a period of 1 year, and it could be extended on the basis of performance of the candidate.
Description of the project : The project involves the process development for the rare disease therapeutics. The therapeutics includes chiral small molecules and antisense oligonucleotide.
Research Associate- I (01 post)
Upper age limit (Yr) : 35
Educational qualification and experience/skill : Ph.D awarded or submitted (organic/medicinal chemistry). Should have experience in synthesis of chiral molecules, muti-step synthesis/ synthesis of API/Total synthesis of natural products. Should be well versed in analytical techniques and interpretation of analytical data.
Salary (Rs) : 47,000/- +HRA

JRF (01 post)
Upper age limit (Yr) : 30
Educational qualification and experience/skill : Masters in organic, medicinal chemistry. Should have expertise in organic synthesis and use of analytical instruments such as LC-Mass, GC- Mass, HPLC etc.
Salary (Rs) : 31,000/- +HRA
Terms and conditions
1. The above position is purely contractual and initially for a period of 1 year. The continuation of the fellowship is subjected to satisfactory performance and can be extended up to 3 years.
2. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. Applications reaching after specified time may not be entertained.
5. Valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
6. Candidates with prior experience of working in a funded project will be preferred.
