Establishment of National Tobacco Testing Laboratories (NTTLs) is a milestone for the Tobacco Control Programme in India. Over the years, the process of establishment of these laboratories has evolved through several facets of work that started with the identification of existing laboratories which could be upgraded for tobacco product analysis. Procurement of sophisticated equipment, recruitment of qualified scientific staff, implementation of capacity building measures through advanced training programmes and collaboration with other world-class WHO-recognised laboratories have been part of this long journey of NTTLs.
The Director, National Tobacco Testing Laboratory, Guwahati invites applications from eligible candidates for the following contractual posts within thirty days of the publication of this advertisement in the Employment News.
Post : Senior Scientific Officer-II (One Post)
Qualification :
• Essential : M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Sciences or M.Pharm with five years research experience.
• Desirable : 3 years research experience in natural products / synthesis / analysis of organic compounds/bio-chemical/pharmaceuticals sciences.
Job description : To work on advanced analytical equipment’s and protocols for tobacco products analysis.
Max. age limit (years) (as on date of publication in employment News) : 45 years
Consolidated emoluments monthly (in INR) : Rs. 60,000/-
