The CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) is a research institute created and funded by Government of India. It was established in Nagpur in 1958 with focus on water supply, sewage disposal,communicable diseases and to some extent on industrial pollution and occupational diseases found common in post-independent India.
NEERI is a pioneer laboratory in the field of environmental science and engineering and is constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). NEERI has five zonal laboratories at Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. NEERI comes under the Ministry of Science and Technology (India) of central government. The NEERI is an important partner organization in India’s POPs National Implementation Plan (NIP).
Post : Project Associate-1 (One position)
Eligible and interested candidates are invited for ONLINE INTERVIEW (Through Microsoft Teams) for the following purely temporary positions for the project “Providing technical services and compliance monitoring during the full scale soil remediation at the mercury contaminated closed thermometer factory site of HUL, Kodaikanal”, Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.
Essential Qualification : M. Sc. (Chemistry/Environ. Science)
Desirable : 1 .Experience in environmental chemical analysis 2. Knowledge of local language (Tamil)
Job Requirement : 1. Collection and Analysis of soil/sediment/ water/biota samples for mercury
2. Analytical report preparation, inter laboratory comparison, QA/QC and laboratory maintenance Other requirements The selected candidate may need to work in shifts
Upper age Limit : 35 yrs
Monthly Emoluments (Rs) : i) Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HR A (as applicable) to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lecturership or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions or
ii) Rs. 25000/- per month plus HRA (as applicable) for others who do not fall under (i) above

Mode of Selection

• Selection will be on the basis of online Interview through MS Team. Date of interview will be notified separately through e-mail.
• All manpower positions in the projects are on contract basis and will be co-terminus with the project.
• Only those candidates who have completed the essential qualification & result has been declared are eligible to apply.
• The shortlisted applicants shall be required to appear the interview through MS team.
• The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of Online Interview from 10.00 A.M. onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time period (if any change is there, they will be accordingly intimated).
• Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents including eligibility qualification, age and relaxation will be verified, if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment stands cancelled.
