Vacancy for Project Assistant at Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute

During that time with the help and support of Dr. B.C. Roy an eminet physician and then chief minister of West Bengal, the foundation of the present day Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital(CCH) was laid.The hospital was formally inaugurated by Prof. Madam J.Curie in January 2,1950 and named after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, as a tribute to and in the acknowledgment of the enormous donation of his land and property for the cause.Initially this was a Cancer treatment centre, which gradually expanded its activities in basic and clinical research with the assistance from goverment funding organzations.This eventually led to the founding of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Centre (CNCRC),funded by the Goverment of India in 1957, which was committed to basic research on cancer.

Recruitment of one Project Assistant in West Bengal Pollution Control Board sponsored project entitled “Exploration of probable PM2.5 triggered pathways associated with lung cancer in exposed population of Kolkata” under Dr. Dona Sinha, Principal Investigator in the Department of Receptor Biology and Tumor Metastasis, CNCI.

Essential Qualification : First class M.Sc in Biological Sciences/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genetics 
Proactive student with the following qualification may apply.

Duration : Initially for 1 year, extendable up to 1.3 years, subject to annual review of the work done.

Fellowship : Rs. 10000/- per month (consolidated)

Age limits : Maximum 28 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement (relaxable for suitable PWD/SC/ST/OBC/women candidate, as per Govt. Rules).


Applicants are requested to appear at walk-in-interview on 9.12.2021 at 11 AM in the CNCI auditorium (5th floor of the research wing) with an application on plain paper addressing Director, CNCI along with complete bio data and other supportive documents pertinent to qualifications and experiences required for the above-mentioned posts. Candidates should bring the original certificates and testimonials in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experiences, publications, etc. and failing to produce any of the above-mentioned documents in original would disqualify the candidate to appear in the interview. Appointment of candidates as Project Assistant in the ad-hoc research project will not bestow any right for regularization to any temporary or permanent post in the institute or elsewhere.
