The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates to apply as Research Associate (RA) for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – Fellowship program for the year 2021 under the mentorship of Dr. Inusha Panigrahi (Professor and Incharge (Genetics and Metabolic Unit)) and Dr. Pankaj C. Vaidya (Pediatric Pulmonology Unit), Department of Pediatrics, APC, PGI, Chandigarh to apply for the tentative concept proposal “Characterization of Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) gene mutations in Indian patients with Cystic Fibrosis using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based approach and development of a cost-effective strategy for mutation screening.”
Eligibility Criteria : Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having three years research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSC/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. [(Ref: ICMR Office Letter No. 16/139/2014-Admn.II dated 11/06/2019)].

Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email whether they are eligible to appear for a physical/ online interview to be held at 02:30 PM on 10th December, 2021 (Friday).

All candidates appearing for the interview should be able to produce all original documents and one self-attested photocopy of all the documents justifying their claim viz. schooling, graduation, post- graduation, PhD, publications, other proof of qualifications, experiences, examinations qualified etc.
3. Those who fail to present the originals and one attested copy of all certificates will not be considered.
4. Appearing in the interview doesn’t guarantee selection for applying for the award under the mentors.
