CSIR-IHBT is one of the 38 national laboratories of the Council of Scientific Industrial Research. It is located in the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range at an elevation of 1300 m amsl. The Institute has a focus to develop technologies for boosting bioeconomy through sustainable utilization of Himalayan bioresources for societal, industrial and environmental benefits. The institute has successfully carried out mission-oriented projects on medicinal plants, aromatic plants, Himalayan floriculture, tea and selected crops of industrial significance.

CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur invites applications from the eligible and interested candidates for the following positions on purely temporary basis and co-terminus with the duration of the project as detailed below.

Project(s) Title & (Projects Number): “Evaluation of genetic consequences of Climate change on high altitude specialist species at the elevation range limit of the Himalayan Mountains (GAP-0241)"

Educational Qualification(s) Essential / Desirable : Essential Qualification: M Sc. Zoology OR M Sc. Ecology and evolution from a recognized university. Desirable Qualification: Candidate should be prepared for travelling in remote locations which require trekking, camping and animal handling. Candidates from the Himalayan States will be preferred.

The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upto the suitability of candidates and access needs of the candidates in the project. The online applications should reach through prescribed e.mail ID shown against the position on or before 11th December, 2020.
